Shri Raghumanya Teertharu's poorvashrama name was Lakshmi Narayana. He was a graduate. He was ordained into sanyasa on June 10, 1974. He studied under his Guru and other scholors in the Matha. His guru was on the Peetha for three years after his ashrama. Thus, he was guided well in all sampradaya of the matha. He also had good 'deeksha' and 'mantra japa'. He served his guru with great devotion. The Matha administration was carried out meticulously by him. Due to government policies sevaral lands belonging to the matha were lost. However, Swamiji was not upset by this. He said his disciples were his true wealth. 'Poojadi Vaibhava' became more festive and annadana was carried out in manner.
He was very much interested in 'Shastra Adhyayana' (structured study of scriptures). As directed by Shri Vishwottama Teertharu of Sode Matha, he went to Mantralaya Matha. He also studied under Raja Giriachar and Magadi Ranganathachar and other vidwans. From 1979 to 1986 he was in Mantralaya and completed his studies. He returned to Bheema Katte. Along with 'Shastra Jnana' he also had great knowledge of Sanskrit proverbs. He would quote them often even while conversing with people.
He followed 'anushtana' without fail. Even during rainy months he would not miss his bath in the river during the early hours (4.30 am) in spite of the river being in full spate at that time. He had several 'Mantra Siddhis'. Therefore his 'Mantrakshate' helped several devotees to overcome their problems. He renovated the present matha premises. Also, he bought Vidyaranayapura Raghavendra Matha in Bangalore and developed it. In 2009 he ordained sanyasa to Shri Ramachandra, a student in Puthige Matha and named him Shri Raghuvarendra Teertharu. He handed over the responsibilities of the Matha to him and reached Haripada on February 15, 2018, i.e., on Magha Amavasya.
Shri Raghumany Teertharu was very devoted to 'Vrundavanakhyana Parayana'. After Swamiji attained Haripada, the following Vadiraja Swamiji aradhana was planned to be celebrated in a grand manner by Shri Raghuvarendra Teertharu. When the provisions were checked, 'bengal gram' to make the traditional seet called 'hayagreeva maddi' was missing. So necessary arrangements were being done to get it. Meanwhile to everyone's great surprise all the ingredients needed for the sweet arrived. It was sent by Shri Vishwavallabha Teertharu of Sode Matha through his 'Poorvashrama' father Shri Srinivasa Tantri and Vidwan Shri Venkatadeshacharya to Bheemana Katte Matha. It is noteworthy that the ingredients had come from Sri Sode Kshetra itself! It was nothing but due to the grace of Shri Vadiraja Swami on Sri Raghumanya Teertharu.
