ಶ್ರೀವಿದ್ಯಾಸಾಗರಮಾಧವತೀರ್ಥ ಶ್ರೀಪಾದರು ಹರಿಪದವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ತುಂಬಾ ವಿಷದವಾಯಿತು.

ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ಸರ್ವಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದವರು. ಪೂರ್ವಾಶ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನೂಲು ಮತ್ತು ನೆಲ್ಲೂರು ಎರಡು ಕಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ
ಶ್ರೀವ್ಯಾಸರಾಜ ಮಠದ ಶಾಖೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದವರು. ತೆಲುಗು ,ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದು ಮಹಾಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಪ್ರಬಂಧವನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಉತ್ತಮ ಕವಿತಾ ಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಅವರು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಅನೇಕ ಸುಂದರ ಕವಿತೆಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಶ್ರೀಮಾಧವತೀರ್ಥ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದವರು. ಶ್ರೀಪಾದರು 93 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಇಂದು ಶ್ರೀಹರಿ ಪಾದವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ತುಂಬಾ ವಿಷಾದವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಆರಾಧ್ಯಮೂರ್ತಿಯಾದ ಈ ಮೂಲಗೋಪಾಲಕೃಷ್ಣನ

ಶ್ರೀವಿದ್ಯಾಸಾಗರಮಾಧವತೀರ್ಥರು ಹರಿಪಾದವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದರು ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯ ಕೇಳಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಖೇಧವಾಯಿತು.
ಅವರು ಪೂರ್ವಾಶ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನೂಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವಾಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ನೂಲ್ ಶಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾಭಾರತ ಮುಂತಾದ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳ ಪ್ರವಚನವನ್ನು ಆಗಿನ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ಪೀಠಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀಸುಜಯೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರ ಆದೇಶದಂತೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಕೆಲಕಾಲ ಶ್ರೀಗುರು ಸಾರ್ವಭೌಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ವಿದ್ಯಾಪೀಠದ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಯರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವರು . ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವಾಗಲೇ ಮಾಧವ ತೀರ್ಥರ ಮಠದಿಂದ ಸನ್ಯಾಸ ಸ್ವೀಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಪತ್ರ ಬಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದಲೇ ತುರ್ಯಾಶ್ರಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟರು.
ಶ್ರೀಮಾಧವತೀರ್ಥ ಮಠದ ವಿಶೇಷ ಜೀರ್ಣೋದ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು , ಶ್ರೀಮಾಧವತೀರ್ಥರ ಮೃತ್ತಿಕಾಬೃಂದಾವನವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು . ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ತರಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಶ್ರೀಮಠದ ನಿಕಟ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಸುಧಾಮಂಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯ ಸಮೇತರಾಗಿ ಮಂತ್ರಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀಗುರುರಾಜರ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದದ್ದನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ . ಉತ್ತಮ ಕವಿಗಳು ಬಹುಭಾಷಾಭಿಜ್ಞರು ಆದ ಶ್ರೀಗಳವರು ತಮ್ಮ 93 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಸಾರ್ಥಕ ಜೀವನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ ಇಂದು ಶ್ರೀಹರಿ ಪಾದವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿದರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿ ತುಂಬಾ ಆಘಾತವಾಗಿದೆ.ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಆರಾಧ್ಯಮೂರ್ತಿಯಾದ ಮೂಲರಾಮಚಂದ್ರದೇವರು

Shrigalu had touched the hearts of countless people. He was not just a spiritual leader, he was an amazing scholar, a beacon of wisdom and a true emperor of devotion. His service as the Principal of Mantralaya Guru Sarvabhauma Sanskrit Vidyapeeta is a witness to his deep knowledge and dedication to education.
Sri Vidyasagara Madhava Tirtha Shripadangalavaru
was a saint of unique qualities. He established the fame of the Sri Matha through his lectures and extensive tours. He was devoted to the unity of all mAdhva Mathas. He had a scholarship in Sarvamoola Granthas of Sriman Madhvacharya.
Shrigalu comes in the vamsha of Shri Kambalur Ramachandra Tirtharu and used to perform his Aradhane on a grand scale at different places. Shri Kambalur Ramachandra Tirtharu comes in the parampare of Shri Vyasaraja Mahasamsthana (sOsale) and was a great scholar and sampradaya pravartakaru of Vyasaraja Mahasamsthana. Shri Kambalur Ramachandra Tirtharu had studied under Shri Vijayeendra Tirtha Sripadangalavaru.
Shrigalu blessed the community through his writings and discourses; composed thousands of devotional works in Kannada with the Ankita of "gnAna sAgara mAdhava"; enriched the Haridasa literature and the Bhakti literature of Dvaita Vedanta; taught Sarvamoola, Mahabharata and other works: cured the problems of thousands of devotees suffering from various worldly ailments with his tapas.
As a result of his devotion. he was blessed with the divine darshana of smiling face of Sriman-Moola VeeraRama Devaru, the main Pratime of Sri Matha and has composed a beautiful devara nAma - yenthA chaluvnO rAma - describing his vision of Sriman VeeraRama devaru.
Beyond his educational achievements, Shrigalu's steadfast commitment to the institution's daily rituals and devotional celebrations is impeccable. His tireless service to Sri Veera Ram (Sri Madhava tIrtha maTa Pattada dEvaru) was a constant source of inspiration, demonstrating a deep and unshakable faith that is truly humbling to witness. He dedicated his life to uphold the traditions and values of the maTa, served as example of selfless devotion and spiritual leadership.
His life is a witness to the power of faith, the beauty of mastery, and the continued power of the human spirit. Shrigalu's remembrance, reminding us of the importance of devotion, wisdom and selfless service will remain forever as a source of inspiration to one and all.
He had taught Mahabharata Tatparya Nirnaya, Vishnusaharanama meanings and other works to a group of shishyas. One of them, Shri Giridhar Krishna, has compiled and published "shri Vishnusahasranama Stotram - Sahasranamagala Artha Sangraha" on the occasion of Shrigalu's first maha samArAdhane in March 2026.
Shrigalu's Ph.D. thesis in his pUrvAshrama was on Mahabharata and its variations. It can be found at the below link.
