The twenty-five-year old Ramachandra Aras today became the 43rd pontiff of Sri Bheemanakatte Mutt of Sri Bheemasethu Samsthan, Thirthahalli in Shimoga district after he was given 'Sanyasadeeksha' (Consecration). Various rituals related to the 'Sanyasadeeksha' programmes including ''Viraja Homa'' were held at Sri Krishna Mutt. Senior pontiff of the Mutt Sri Raghuimanya Thirtha Swamiji adminstered ''Pranava Manthra Upadesham'' (secret oath) at ''Chandrashaale'', sanctorum of Sri Krishna temple to Ramachandra Aras giving him new name as Raghuvarendra Thirtha Swamiji and announced him as his successor in presence of Sri Sugunendra Thritha Swamiji of Paryaya Puttige Mutt.
Prior to the 'Sanyasadeeksha' and as part of the religious process , ''Shakhalya Homa'', ''Athmashuddhi Homa'' and ''Prayaschittha Homa'' were held here yesterday.
The new incumbent Swamiji hailed from to Beejadi village near Koteshwar in Kundapura taluk of Udupi district. For the last eight years he has been studying 'Veda' and 'Vedanta' at Sri Puttige Vidyapeeta near Hiriyadka in Udupi taluk and studying 'Srimannyayasudha'' under Sri Puttige Seer before attaining 'Sanyasadeeksha'. The senior pontiff of Bheemanakatte mutt has been associated with Sri Krishna Mutt since last one year to assist Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji during the two year term of Paryaya of the latter which commenced from January 18 last year.

Shri Raghuvarendra Teertharu belonged to Koteshwara and had regular education upto pre-university. He then joined Puthige Matha Gurukula and had his training in 'shastras'. He was ordained into Sanyasa Ashrama on March 13, 2009. He became Uttaradhikari of Bheemana Katte Matha. He continued his 'shastra adhyayana' under the tutelage of Shri Puthige swamiji, Shri Sugunendra Teertharu during his 'parya' at Udupi. He completed his 'Sudha Adhyayana' in 2010.
He then had his 'shastra paatha' under the guidance of a Vidwan from Udupi and later at Mantralaya. His fondness for 'Shastra Adhyayana' is immense. He is also fond of Bhagavata and gives discourses in very simple language. He reaches out to the listeners with his eloquent speeches.
At present he wants to develop the main matha and other branches. He has also planned for various programmes concerning social awareness about 'shastras'. He wants to dedicate himself to selfless service to the society's upliftment.
