Sri Sureswara Theertha is the 17th saint after Sri Janardhana Theertha in the guru parampare of Krishnapura mutt.

Sri Sureswara Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Tapomurthy Theertha and ruled the Peeta for 12 years. He was famous for great tapasvi, yoga siddhi and trikalajnani. One person by name Krishnacharya tried to examine the swamiji by keeping Tondekayi inside pumpkin and gave as gift. Then swamiji immediately found the mistake and told him like this.

ಕೂಷ್ಮಾಂಡ ವಂಚ್ಯಸೇ ಬಿಂಬೈರ್ಗ್ರಾಹ್ಯೋಽಪ್ಯಗ್ರಾಹ್ಯಬೀಜಕೈಃ

ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಡ್ಯೋ ಬಹಿಃಶುದ್ಧಸ್ತ್ಯಕ್ತೋಽತಃ ಶುಭಕರ್ಮಸು

Later that pumpkin pressed by keeping it below the leg of elephant and that persons cheating was shown to the public. Then one Tondekayi came out and started troubling his stomach. Fearing this Krishnacharya surrendered at the feet of swamiji and sought apology. Swamiji then sprinkled tirtha on him from his kamandala and made him fearless.

After handing over Peeta to Sri Jagannatha Theertha, it is said that he entered Vrundavana on the banks of river Krishna but it needs to be confirmed after thorough research.
