Besides the 8 maThas of Udupi, there are two more maThas coming under the category of tauLava maThas (from the tulu-speaking belt). One is ShriBandarakeri maTha, which is headquartered at BARKUR in Udupi district.
Shri Bandarakeri maTha traces its origin from ShriAchyutha prajna, and then through Shri Madhwacharya and Shri Sathya teertha. The same maTha is said to have bifurcated into Shri Bheemana kaTTe maTha (of Theerthahalli taluk).
When Shri Vadirajaru was the head of Sode MaTha, at that time his poorvashrama younger brother Shri Surottama Teertha was heading Bhandarakeri MaTha.
It is said that the line of disciples under the pontiff Acyuta-prajna,(guru of Madhwacharya) who in turn was the guru to initiate the Acharya into samnyasa, branched into two lines, one at Bhandarkeri and the other at Bhimanakatte. Bhandarkeri is located some 20 km north of Udupi in Barakuru. Though Bhimana-katte (Bhima-setumunivranda) is also a matha of Tulu region, its original sourcehead is a place called Bhimanakatte on the Tirthahalli-Shimoga road.

ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ಮಧ್ವರ ಆಶ್ರಮ ಗುರುಗಳೇ ಅಚ್ಯುತಪ್ರಜ್ಞರು. ಇವರ ಪರಂಪರೆಯೇ ಭಂಡಾರಕೇರಿ ಮಠ. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಉಡುಪಿಯಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ೨೦ ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾರಕೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಯುಗದ ಜಂಜಾಟಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿ ಸಸಿ-ಗಿಡಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಲ ಪರಿಸರ-ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಕಲರವ-ಅಬ್ಬರಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತತೆ - ಮೈಮನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಅಣಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಸರೋವರ ಇವುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳ ತಪೋವನವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಮಾಡಿಸಿದಂತಿದೆ. ಬಾರಕೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಕೂರು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಲು ಮೂಲಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡುವಂತಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಲವು ಕಾಲನೆಲಿಸಿ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಮಪೂಜ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀಶ್ರೀವಿದ್ಯಾಮಾನ್ಯತೀರ್ಥರ ದೈಹಿಕ ತಪಸ್ಸು-ಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ದೃಡೀಕರಣ ಆ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವಂತ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆರಾಧ್ಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀಸೀತಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ಸಹಿತ ಶ್ರೀಕೋದಂಡರಾಮಚಂದ್ರನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಆಚಾರ್ಯ ಮಧ್ವರ ಆಶ್ರಮ ಗುರುಗಳೇ ಅಚ್ಯುತಪ್ರಜ್ಞರು. ಇವರ ಪರಂಪರೆಯೇ ಭಂಡಾರಕೇರಿ ಮಠ. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಉಡುಪಿಯಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಕ್ಕೆ ೨೦ ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾರಕೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಆಧುನಿಕ ಯುಗದ ಜಂಜಾಟಗಳಿಂದ ದೂರವಾಗಿ ಸಸಿ-ಗಿಡಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಲ ಪರಿಸರ-ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳ ಕಲರವ-ಅಬ್ಬರಗಳಿಲ್ಲದ ಪ್ರಶಾಂತತೆ - ಮೈಮನಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಅಣಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಸರೋವರ ಇವುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳ ತಪೋವನವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಮಾಡಿಸಿದಂತಿದೆ. ಬಾರಕೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸಾಧಕರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಾಧನೆಗೆ ಕೂರು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಲು ಮೂಲಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ನೀಡುವಂತಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಲವು ಕಾಲನೆಲಿಸಿ ಸಾಧನೆಯ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪರಮಪೂಜ್ಯ ಶ್ರೀಶ್ರೀವಿದ್ಯಾಮಾನ್ಯತೀರ್ಥರ ದೈಹಿಕ ತಪಸ್ಸು-ಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ದೃಡೀಕರಣ ಆ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜೀವಂತ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆರಾಧ್ಯಮೂರ್ತಿ ಶ್ರೀಸೀತಾಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣ ಸಹಿತ ಶ್ರೀಕೋದಂಡರಾಮಚಂದ್ರನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

ಉಡುಪಿಯಿಂದ 20 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಉತ್ತರದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಭಂಡಾರಕೇರಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ.ಸತ್ಯತೀರ್ಥರು ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಸೂತ್ರಭಾShyaದ ಮೊದಲ ಲಿಪಿಕಾರರು.ಋಕ್ ಶಾಖೆಯ ಪಾಠವನ್ನು ಆಚಾರ್ಯರಿಂದ ಮೂರು ಬಾರಿ ಕೇಳಿದವರು.ಆಚಾರ್ಯರು ಬದರಿಗೆ ತೆರಳುವಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದವರು.ಅವರಿಂದ ಮುಂದುವರಿದು ಬಂದ ಪರಂಪರೆಯೇ ಭಂಡಾರಕೇರಿ ಮಠ.
