I could get contact number of Sri Sagar Bhat of Bheemanakatte Mutt over internet. I spoke to him and requested him to assist me in providing the available information of Bheemanakatte Mutt. He informed to contact Sri. Dhanajaya at the Mutt's premises. I visited Bhimanakatte Mutt on December 31, 2019 and I was informed that most of the records were all lost due to floods. However, Sri Dhananjaya gave me a book printed during 2019 and the parampara of the mutt as given in the said book is reproduced here. My sincere thanks to Sri Sagar Bhat and Sri Dhananjaya for their assistance in providing the information for updation.

Origin
The Bhimasethu Munivrunda Mutt is situated on the banks of the river Tunga and is six kilometres away from Thirthahalli. The title Bhimasethu recalls an incident related to Bhimasena, who was one of the Pandavas. When the Pandavas came for vanavasa near Thirthahalli, they decided to halt at kavaledurga. Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas prayed lord Bhimasena to arrange for water for Anheka(Daily Rituals) for pandavas.
Then Lord Bhimasena decided to build a bridge across the river Tunga which was flowing nearby by offering Sankalpa to Sri Krishna that he would stop constructing the bridge before the sun rise of the following day. On hearing about the decision taken by Lord Bhimasena, the sages of the land started to worry as the people living there depended on water from the river Tunga. During this time Doorvasa, a sage of the lineage, worshipped the Lord to help them with a remedy. Lord Krishna on hearing the prayers of Doorvasa, Lord Sri Krishna took the form of a cock and started to coo before the sun rise. On hearing the cock coo Lord Bhimasena stopped his work.
He realised that it was Lord Sri Krishna’s plan from stopping him from constructing the bridge. Lord Sri Krishna appeared in front of Bhimasena and made him realise the inconvenience that would have been caused due to his action to the sages living in the land. Bhimasena immediately freed the water through three places of the bridge. Even now, this place can be recognised easily. It was because of this bridge the place came to be known as Bhimasethu (Bhimanakatte). Being a resident for thousands of sages headed by Doorvasa (Munivrunda), the Mutt was named as Bhimasethu Munivrunda Mutt. It is also called as the Sri MadAchyuta Prekshacharya Samsthana and also as Jagadguru Sri.Madhwacharya Gurumatta.
History
Learning  in ancient times, primarily comprised the study of Vedas and other lore’s. The teaching of holy texts was commenced by Lord through different forms (Rupa). The Lord blessed God Brahma and others with wealth of shastric learning. Once, in the form of Swan (Hamsa) the Lord instructed some disciplinary norms of sagic life for mandatory practice. He set himself as a paradigm of sagic life and dawned the Parampara (the tradition). In this noble tradition, many sages of magnanimous personality succeeded. These sages inherited rich knowledge and mystic power. They embraced the discipline of sagic life. The sages were proficient and skilled to promote the grandeurs of the tradition, they sermonised the right information of different lore’s.

It is an unbreakable Parampara headed by Lord Hamsa. Then, it was elegantly embellished by God Brahma, Sanaka and other sages. Sage Doorvasa, Garudavahana Theerta, Kaivalya Theerta, Para Teerta, Satyaprajna, Prajna Theerta, Achyutaprekshacharya, and then Sri Madhwacharya. The Sanyasa Parampara started from this lineage.

God Brahma used to worship the Lord in different forms. After him, the icons were inherited by sage Sanaka and others (widely known as Brahmamanasaputras). After the Brahmamanasaputras these icons were inherited by the well known sage Dooravasa. Sage Doorvasa continued teaching the lore’s and worshipped the Lord. During his sacred tour, he and his pupils reached the bank of river Tunga near Tirthahalli. He was mesmerised by the serenity of the place and continued to stay there for a longer duration. Since then the place came to be known as Doorvasapuram. The descendent of sage Doorvasa practised teaching the skills of the Parampara to their disciples and went for Tattvaprachara. A sage of high rank and reputation Sri. Kaivalya Theerta was a sage of high knowledge and mystic power. On knowing his greatness, the king of the Pandava race, Janamejaya, gifted the great scholar Sri. Kaivalya Theerta the land of Doorvasapuram. A mention of the gifts to Sri. Kaivalya Theerta is made on the copper plate that is preserved in the archaeological museum of Shimoga.
Doorvasapuram was considered as the headquarter of the sages. One of the sages Sri. Achyutaprekshacharya, who belonged to the same Parampara went on a sacred tour for Tattvaprachara. During this time, when he was in Udupi, he was given a hint by Lord Ananteshwara, to nominate Sri. Madhwacharya as his successor of this lineage. Sri. Madhwacharya who succeeded Sr. Achyutaprekshacharya gave due importance to bhakti movement. Sri. Madhwacharya preached the doctrines of the lineage to his pupils, out of which he made a few of them as the successors of this lineage. Among which Sri. Satyatirtha is of important mention. Realising the intent of his guru Sri. Achyutaprekshacharya, Sri. Madhwacharya submitted his shishya Sri. Satyatirtha to him.
The icons of the lineage were given to Sri. Madhwacharya by his guru Sri. Achyutaprekshacharya. There needs to be a due mention of the Damodara Shaligrama that was presented by Sri. Madhwacharya to his guru Sri. Achyutaprekshacharya as a gurukanike. Since then the lineage has been known as Sri. Achyutaprekshatirtha Samsthana (Bhimanakatte Mutt).

Parampara --->
The saints of this lineage have dedicated their entire life practising Japa, Tapa and Tattvaprachara. Special mention should be made for Sri. Raghottama Theerta, Sri. Raghuvarya Theerta, Sri. Raghunatha Theerta, Sri. Raghupraveera Theerta, Sri. Raghutilaka Theerta and Sri. Raghumanya Theerta. The knowledge and practised of the saints is highly memorable. The worship of the icons, the learnings and teachings of the saints, the process of shastric work, the encouragement of the scholars, performance of festivals and Aradhana on a large scale are all regular practices of the Mutt. The Mutt offers Annadana to the pilgrims and needy people. The cordial hospitality of the Mutt is praiseworthy.

Presently His Holiness 108 Sri. Raghuvarendra Theerta Swamiji is the successor of this lineage. Being a learned scholar, he gives utmost importance to traditional values and sagic disciplines. He takes keen participation in resolving the issues of the Mutt skilfully. Sri. Raghuvarendratirtha Swamiji voluntarily performs Japa, Tapa and worship of the icons which have been worshipped since the beginning of the Sanyasa Parampara. He takes active initiative in the development of the Mutt.

Lastly, there needs to be a mention that the Bhimanakatte Mutt holds a glorious history of five thousand years and the proof of this history is tested and recorded by the archaeological survey department. Please find the softcopy of the proof attached below.  (? not there in mutt's website).

from bhimanakatteraghavendraswamymutt.com---> Sage  Doorvasa traces his descendent to the lineage of Paramahamsa started by the Lord Himself named Hamsa. He Practiced penance and austerities in an ashrama, built in this place. In this lineage that continued came Sri Kaivalya Tirtha, disciple of Sri Garudavahana Teertha. During his time Emperor CJanamejaya of the pandava dynasty was on the expedition towards the south. The sacred place, where sages Durvasa and Agasthya did their thapasayas, was under the suzerainty of the emperor Yudhishtira, great grandfather of king Janamejaya. In the presence of Harihareshwara of Harihar Kind Janamejaya gave away the place a s a grant to Sri Kaivalya Tirtha in order that his offer would enable his parents attain Vishnuloka. The Grant is incorporated in a copper plate inscription which is still available. In this inscription the king has requested Sri Kaivalya Thirta and his successors to maintain the land granted till eternity.

Sri . Kaivalaya Thirta and his successors continued their worship and devotion toSri Rama and Dissemination of Knowledge in the sacred place. As days rolled by, Buddhism and other religions were gained ascendancy To review Vaishnavism there apperared on the Earth Sri Madhawa, an avatar of Sro Vayu Devaru under the direction of the Supreme Lord, he was ordained into sanyasa by sri Achyutha preksha. Who is on his previous birth had got sanctioned by his obtaining his foods from the hands Dhrupathi for 12 years while pandavas were living in the forest. Tradition holds that the saint Achyutha Preksha was an incarnate of sri Dhaumya Maharshi. As asked by Saint Achyutha Preksha, Sri Madhwa Wrote Bhashyas on Geeta and Bramhasutra of Sri Vedavyasa and disproved the very contention of other 21 commentaries and thus re-established  the supremacy of sri Vishnu. He made Sri Sathya Teertha his successor pontiff and retired to Badrikshrama where tradition holds Sri Madhwa is still serving Sri Vedavyasa.
The pointific seat is at the confluence of Tnga and Malathi Rivers. The Munivrinda Kshethra is known as the establishment of Saint Achyutha Prekshacharya. From theron the mutt has been known as Achyuthaprekshacharya MahaSamsthanam. The samsthanam, originating from Sri Sathya Teertha continues to be in vanguard of all the saintly seats of Sri.Madhwa’s followers
Among the pontiffs of the mutt Sri.Raghupraveera Teertha was the successor of Sri Raghunatha Teertha and close associate of then Sri Vadiraja Teertha.  Once when he was observing Chaturmasya in Kumbhakonam, He brough a volume. It was a dialeccic work that established the validity of Svapnavrundavanakshyana. It was also a highlighting and bridge commentary on Svapnavrundavanakshyana namely Svapna vrundavanakhyana pramanya bhodhini. He observed fatening till he established his sand on Rujutva of Sri Vadiraja Swamy. He had, also the honor of performing poojas at Sri Krishna temple n udupi as chikkapatta during one of the Paryaya along with Sode Mutt and he established five Mukya prana idols.

Sri Bheemasethu Munivrinda Mutt popularly known as Bheemana Katte Mutt is situated at Doorvaspuram on the bank of holy river Tunga,Theerthalli Taluk Shimoga district of Karnataka State. The Samasthana is known as Srimad Achutha Prekshacharya Mahasamsthanam.Achyuta Prekshacharya belonged to original Sanakadi Parampara established by the Lord Sri Hamsa and it is the Guru Peetha of Sri.Madhwacharaya. Here

History of Place
As per the Tunga Mahatme in Skandha Purana this mutt is known as “Bheema Sethu Munivrinda Mutt” Since bheemsena, one of the Pandavas, intended to construct a bridge on the request of Draupadi and the Bheemasena promised that he would divert the river by constructing the bridge before the cock crew in the early morning. Sage Doorvasa had having ashram in the neighborhood. He learnt about the bridge and prayed Lord Krishna.  Sri Krishna assuming the form crow crewed and by this untimely crewing the Bheemsena stopped the work in the half way.
Lord Krishna and Sage Doorvasa appeared before Bhīma and explained the consequences of constructing the Bridge. Later Bhīma n coming to Know about the consequences made three divisions and invoked the presence of deities of the river Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi and thus blessed the world. Those taking a holy dip on this confluence would get the merit equivalent to that of taking a dip in Prayag. Even today, there is mark that clearly shows the mark of Gadha which was kept during the   formation of bridge.
Since all the sages were living here this place has been named as Munivrinda Mutt (Group of Sages) Hence, the place is called as heemasethu Munivrinda Mutt. Since, Sage Durvasalived in this place, it is named after him as Doorvasapuram.

It is said that the line of disciples under the pontiff Acyuta Preksha,(guru of Madhwacharya) who in turn was the guru to initiate the Acharya into sanyasa, branched into two lines, one at Bhandarkeri and the other at Bhimanakatte. Bhandarkeri is located some 20 km north of Udupi in Barakuru. Though Bhimana-katte (Bhima-setumunivranda) is also a matha of Tulu region, its original sourcehead is a place called Bhimanakatte on the Tirthahalli-Shimoga road.

The river Tunga flows across the green forest land and mountains of Theerthahalli, a place of pilgrimage and natural beauty, and there is Bheemanakatte, a small village but a hig name for its sanctity.

Bheemanakatte, as the name embellishments from Madhwas, the followers of Madhwacharya, was named after the incident happened during Dwapara, when Bheema, madhyama pandava, built a dam to the river Tunga overnight to stop the outflow of water, as local history says.
