Sri Mahendra Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Amarendra Theertha and ruled the Peeta for 22 years. He was a great tapasvi and did nirashana vrata (Fasting). His disciple Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha has specially praised him in one of the work “Padaratnavali”.

After handing over Peeta to Sri Vijayadhwaja Theertha, it is said that he entered Vrundavana on the banks of river Godavari, but place of Vrundavana needs to be confirmed after thorough research.
