There he performed severe austerities and pleased Lord Krishna. He got 8 idols of Krishna and awakened the power of the Lord in them, kept one for himself and gave the rest to other 7 Krishna mutts. He conducted one Paryaya and then handed over the Samsthana to his direct disciple Sri Varijaksha Theertha and left again for Mannarugudi. He stayed there and pleased the Lord of the place Sri Krishna with his steadfast devotion and attained his abode on 5th day of Magha Shudha.
