Sri Kavindra Theertha is the 20th saint after Madhwacharya in the guru parampare of Puttige mutt.

Sri Kavindra Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Yadavendra Theertha and ruled the Peeta for 35 years. During his time in a mutt built by his guru in Puttige village, he did avahana of Narasimha which was carved in a pole in eastern side in Narasimha idol and started doing Pooja to it daily. He also made arrangements for daily Pooja of Ganapati which was carved in pole outside the mutt.
After handing over Peeta to Sri Raghavendra Theertha he entered Vrundavana at Puttige.

Kavindra tirtha

The mutt @ Hiriyadka village was renovated during peethadhipatya of Yadavendra teertharu.of mutt had beautiful carvings on it.Opposite pillars had carvings of Elephant and a lion,which is against shilpa shAstra or vAstu.Because of  tapashakti of Kavindra teertharu,there was udhbhava of ganapati in the pillar in which elephant was carved and udhbhava of Narasimha devaru in the pillar in which lion was carved.

He was a great scholar and had taught several of the other swamijis. He had travelled across the country and had won against many people in debates. Several kings had made grants to him. He is the one who constructed stone structures in Madhwa sarOvara. An inscription found under Ganga temple at the sarOvara bears testimony to this.  He lived for 100 years.
