Sri Raghavendra Theertha is the 21^st saint after Madhwacharya in the guru parampare of Puttige mutt.

Sri Raghavendra Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Kavindra Theertha and ruled the Peeta for 26 years. He was a great scholar and was Vidya guru for many saints. He toured the country all over and won the debates over opponents. Many kings donated elephants, horses and ornaments to him. He also told sarva moola paata to many disciples for many times. He was believed to be lived for 100 years.

He was a great scholar and had taught several of the other swamijis. He had travelled across the country and had won against many people in debates. Several kings had made grants to him. He is the one who constructed stone structures in Madhwa sarOvara. An inscription found under Ganga temple at the sarOvara bears testimony to this.  He had lived for 100 years.

After handing over Peeta to Sri Vibudhendra Theertha he entered Vrundavana at Puttige.

Stones were laid to Madhva Sarovar in 16th century by him.Madhva mantapa which is inthe middle of the tank was also constructed by him. Special pooja will be conducted in Madhvamantapa on the day of utthana dwadashi. Lakshmidhara teertha of Shiroor mutt (ashrama period 1720 - 1735) was his brother.

Raghavendra teertharu's brother is Sri Lakshmidhara Teertharu  (Shirooru Mutt yati 23). Brindavana of Lakshmidhara teetharu is at Puthige. Land has been gifted from shiroor mutt to puthige mutt to carry out hastodaka of Lakshmidhara teertharu.
