Sri Vittala Theertha is the 17th saint after Sri Vishnu Theertha in the guru parampare of Sode mutt.

Sri Vittala Theertha took Ashrama from Sri Viswa Theertha and ruled the Peeta for 7 years. Not much information is available about him. He normally used to stay in Naddentadi (Madhyavata mutt, but visits to Udupi only during special occasions.
After handing over Peeta to Sri Varadaraja Theertha he entered Vrundavana, but place is not known.

info from sodemutt website--->Sri Vitthalatirtha used to stay at Madhyavatamatha for longer time. He worshipped Lord Vedavyasa with pure devotion and dedication. He was very much pleased to receive the merciful blessings of the Lord. He entered the holy tomb in the year 1473 A.D. He enjoyed the period of pontificial incharge for 7 years.
