He founded the Subbarayara dAsara guDi (lakshmi venkatesha gudi) near Maharani High school, opposite to Avila Convent, beside Jagan Mohan palace in Mysore. This also houses a rAyara brindAvana.

gOpAla woDeyarU in his pUrvAshrama used to play dice with King MummaDi Krishna rAja BhUpALa. Once when he was playing dice with the King he got up all of a sudden and said - Haa! Appa! srInivAsA! dayAnidhE! bande! khanDita baruttEne! idO horaTe!. He said that Lord srInivAsA was calling and left the place to perform duties indicated by Lord srInivAsA.

He performed intense dyAna. On the 12th day, his guru Diggavi srInivAsAchArya came in his swapna and gave him 3 pieces of angAra, mantrAkshate and kaTihAra haNa. And asked him to accept. He told him to apply that anagAra to those who approached him and give mantRakshatE to get rid of Mari kOpa Drava (a terrible epidemic that had spread in Mysore) and to keep the KaTihAra haNa in dEvara peTTige and perform pooja. And thus Subbarayaru became SubbarAya dAsaru.

He later took sanyAsatva from shri vidyApUrNa tIrtharu of sOsalE vyAsarAja maTa and became shri gOpAla woDeyaru. In his works, he informs us that shri vidyApUrNa tIrtharu is the 4th incarnation of shri vyAsarAjaru, the 2nd being rAyaru and 3rd being shri shEsha chandrikAchAryaru, also in sOsale vyAsarAja maTa paramparE.

Shri vyAsarAju had given sanyAsa to gOvinda woDeyaru, who remained a biDi sanyAsi too and had passed away before his guru and has brindAvana at Nava brindAvana next to shri vyAsarAjaru. Similarly, gOpAla woDeyarU too passed away before his Guru.

Shri gOpAla woDeya guruvantargata, shri vidyApUrNa tIrtha guruvantargata, bhAratiramaNa mukhyaprANantargata, rukmiNi satyabhAma patE shri mUla gOpAlakrishNa dEvara pAdAravindakke gOvinda, gOvinda….

  Srinivasan Ramarao Sir, are you having any information of other bidi sanyasigalu of sri Vyasarajaru . It appears that therewere 24 sanyasa sishyas of sri Vyasarajaru during his time srating with the Kesavanaama to Krishna naama.. .Is there any book /reference about them. If so please share the same. Recently I found a brindavana near Coimbatore in a dilapidated venugopalaswami temple Also i found .In a sthupa nearby a carvig of mukyapraadevaru as per the details of sri Vyasarajaru. So I assume it may be of the bidi sanyasi of sri vyasarajaru. .Kindly post if any details available

  Srinivasan Ramarao All the eight Brindavanas of Sri Vyasaraja mutt yethigalu at Sosale had no hasththaka,pooja aradane earlier. When we visited sosale in May we found the place full with rubbles and cobwebs around the brindavana.Now we the members of Sri Chandrikacharya Seva sangha from Tamilnadu has taken up to conduct aradane from this year for all the 8 yethigalu there .Fortunately 5 aradane came in 3 months from May and conducted aradane of sri VidhyaNidhi Theertharu last week ( Ekadasi/dwadasi with Jagarne at T. Narasapur and aradane at Sosale with the pravachana of sri D.Prahaladachar, Nagendra achar, Mathirishwachar etc . about 100people had the dwadasi parane. . This is for information.
