Megamedianews website---> Udupi:  Sri Vidyendra Theertha Sripada was anointed the successor of Sri Vidyvallabhateertha Swamiji of Chitrapura Mutt on June 7, 2012 Thursday.  Sri Vidyendra will be the 19th pontiff of the mutt with an ancient history.

The rituals regarding the anointment of successor were held for three days and concluded on June 7.The Poorvashrama name of Sri Vidyendra is Laxminarayana. He is the third son of Narayanacharya from Theerthahalli.

he ceremony was held in the presence of a large number of devotees under the guidance of priest Herga Vedavyasa Bhat.
