Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha is one of the most accomplished scholars with high wisdom and a great saint in the parampare of Kundapura Shri Vyasaraja mutt. He was born in the place "Narasipura" which belongs to  the present day Nelamangala taluk of Bangalore. Before getting initiated into sanyasa(poorvashrama) he lived in Hale sodhe(ಹಳೆ ಸೋಧೆ ) and was one of the ardent students of Sri Sri LakshmiVallabha Theertha..During this time he authored many books and guided many a students of dwaitha philosophy.

Sri Sri LakshmiVallabha Theertha initiated Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha into sanyasa in the year 1780 and handed over the responsibilities of the mutt to Sri Sri Lakshminathatheertha. According to an epigraph(ಶಿಲಾಶಾಸನ ) in Huliddalli  Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha got the brindavana of Sri Sri Sreenivasa theertha renovated during his days as the seer.

THE LIFE OF GURU LAKSHMINATHA THEERTHA :    Guru Lakshminatharu  travelled all the way from kashmir to kanyakumari spreading the message of vedantha and guiding many people to the right path of knowledge..after his Digvijaya yaathra across India he shifted his karyakshethra to his birth place Narasipura..He worshipped the dieties of "VYAASA MUNI VARADA RUKMINI SATHYABHAAMA SAHITHA SRI GOPALAKRISHNA " and "SRI MADHWACHARYA KARAARCHITHA YOGAPATTAKA LAKSHMINARASIMHA"..Along with the pooja,he spent his time guiding many students through his lectures and discourses..He also provided Aashraya(shelter) to many Pandits and people with thurst for knowledge..Narasipura saw it's golden Period during his days.    Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha used to travel to ABBOORU(ಅಬ್ಬೂರು) during the Araadhana mahothsavas of His Moola Guru "Sri Sri Brahmanya theertha" and other gurus in the parampare. During his days the number of disciples of  Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha increased exponentially in and around narasipura. Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha always involved himself in Gayathri Manthra Japa , the worship of Shri Narasimha devaru and rukmini Sathyabhama Sametha Shrikrishna devaru and made the surroundings of narasipra more divine.    After shining in the Vyasaraja Peeta for 24 years POOJYA  Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha entered the brindavan in the year 1804 (i.e Rakthaakshi samvathsara,Ashvayuja Krishna Thritheeya) on the lakeside in NARASIPURA. Even after 207 years of him entering the brindavana,the greatness and the power of the guru is felt and experienced even today. Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertha is still in Gayathri manthra penance inside the brindavana, blessing the devotees worshipping him with whatever they pray for. COME TO NARASIPURA AND GET THE BLESSINGS OF POOJYA SRI SRI LAKSHMINATHA THEERTHARU. THE DIVINITY OF NARASIPURA KSHETHRA: Narasipura is not an ordinary place, previously this place was known as "Narasimhapura". It is a place where a number of sages and epical characters performed yaagas and penance. JANMEJAYA RAYA(grandson of ABHIMANYU) had performed a "sarpa yaga" in this place and established a "MUKHYA PRAANA" temple in a place called"KODIGEHALLI" which is around 10 kms from narasipura.                                                                            The great saint "AGASTHYA" lived in this place and ended the menace that was created by two raakshasa brothers namely"vaathapi" and "ilvala"..this menace was ended by sage AGASTHYA in the forest region of Narasipura. To the east of narasipura lies a hill called "HAYAGUNDA"..on it's peak lies a "SHRIRAMA" temple where a pillar(STHAMBA) is found instead of the diety..it is claimed that the ASHWA that was used for the ASHWAMEDHA YAAGA by LAVAKUSHA was tied to this pillar and hence the name "HAYAGUNDA"..HAYA in sanskrit means horse..GUNDA means pillar. To the west of narasipura is a hill called "RAMA BETTA"..this is the place where SHREERAMACHANDRA on his way to SEETHA swayamvara stepped on the stoneform of Gouthama rushi's wife ahalya..the very touch of SHRIRAMA's feet made ahalya to get back her original form. To the north of Narasipura lies the KARIGIRI kshethra with YOGA and BHOGA LAKSHMI NARASIMHA SWAMI temples founded  by BRAHMADEVA and DOORVASA MUNI respectively.. this place is popularly known as DEVARAYANA DURGA. To the northeast of   Narasipura is "HIKKALLAPPANA BETTA" also known as the KOORMAGIRI KSHETHRA..This is the holy abode of Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy.      Thus it can be observed that  Narasipura is surrounded by very divine places on all the four sides and it is no surprise that  Sri Sri Lakshminatha Theertharu chose this divine place to enter the brindavana..        ***** ಶ್ರೀಂ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಂ ಕಪಿಲಾಯ ನಮಃ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನಾಥ ತೀರ್ಥರ ವೃಂದಾವನ,  ನರಸೀಪುರ, ಇವರ ಪವಾಡ ಅದ್ಭುತ,  ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಆಚಾರ್ಯರು ಪ್ರಲ್ಹಾದ ಜೋಷಿ ಎನ್ನುವವರು ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಬೇಗನೇ ಬಂದಿರ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಪುಷ್ಕರಿಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾತರಾಹ್ನಿಕಾದಿಗಳು ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಹೋದಾಗ ಪುಷ್ಕರಿಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂತ್ರೋಚ್ಛಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡ್ತಿರುವ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಕಾಣಿಸ್ತಾರೆ, ಯಾರೆಂದು ನೋಡಲು ಹೋದಾಗ ಆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ  ಅತೀ ವೇಗದಿಂದ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಹತ್ತುಕೋತಾ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಹಾಕಿರುವಂತಹ ವೃಂದಾವನದ ಜಾಗದ ಅಂದರೆ ಆ ವೃಂದಾವನ ಇರುವ ರೂಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಂತರ್ಹಿತನಾಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ನಂತೆ.. ಆದರೆ ವೃಂದಾವನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಒದ್ದೆಯಾದ ಪಾದ ಮುದ್ರಗಳು ಇದ್ದವೆ.. ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಹಳ ಮಹಿಮೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಸಜ್ಜನ ವೃಂದಕ್ಕೆ ತೋರಿ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನಾಥತೀರ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಶಿರಬಾಗಿ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ.. ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾಧ್ವ ಯತಿಗಳ ಮಾಹತ್ಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸದಾ ನೆನೆದು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗೋಣ.. 🙏🏽 18ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ವ್ಯಾಸರಾಜಮಠದ ಯತಿಗಳು, ಶ್ರೀ ಸೂರ್ಯಾಂಶರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣ್ಯತೀರ್ಥರ ಪರಮಭಕ್ತರು, ಆರಾಧಕರು, 24 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಪೀಠವನ್ನಧಿರೋಹಿಸಿದವರು, ಸದಾ ಗಾಯತ್ರೀಮಂತ್ರ ಜಪ ಅದರ ಸಿದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ನಿರತರಾದವರು, ಇಂದಿಗೂ ವೃಂದಾವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು ಗಾಯತ್ರೀಮಂತ್ರದ ತಪವನ್ನಾಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರು, ಪರಮಪ್ರಿಯ ಸುಬ್ಬರಾಯದಾಸರಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಥಾತ್  ಶ್ರೀ ತಂದೆಮುದ್ದುಮೋಹನವಿಠಲರಿಗೆ ಗುರುಗಳು, ಇಡೀ ಭಾರತದ ಸಂಚಾರವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ, ವೇದಾಂತ ತತ್ವಗಳನ್ನು, ಮಧ್ವ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಸಜ್ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದವರು, ಅನೇಕಜನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಪಾಠ ಮಾಡಿ ಪಂಡಿತರನ್ನಾಗಿಸಿದವರೂ ಆದ ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನಾಥತೀರ್ಥರ ಆರಾಧನೆ ಇಂದಿನ ದಿನ ನರಸೀಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ (ಕರಿಗಿರಿಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಎಂದೇ ಕರಿಯಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ದೇವರಾಯನ ದುರ್ಗದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನರಸೀಪುರ, ಇದೇ ನಮ್ಮ ದಾಸ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠರು ಶ್ರೀ ತಂದೆಮುದ್ದುಮೋಹನವಿಠಲರ ಜನ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳವೂ).. ಶ್ರೀ ಯತಿಗಳ ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಸದಾ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಮೂಹದಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರಮೇಲಿರಲೆಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ... -Smt.
