He ruled the Peeta for 18 years and he studied shastra education from Sri Yadavendra Theertha, who is disciple of Sri Sudheendra Theertha and acquired great knowledge. He has written Vyakhyana on ‘Chandrika’, ‘Nyayamrutha’ etc. He has received honours from kings Tirumalaraya and Sri Rangadevaraya.

After handing over mahasamsthana to Sri Lakshmipathi Theertha, he entered Vrundavana at Srirangam, TN.

There are 5 bridAvanams in Srirangam belonging to sOsale vyAsarAja maTa. Of them shri lakshminAtha tIrtharu was the first to make srirangam his abode. The complete list is:

He was the recipient of two grants, one in 1643 AD from Tirumala Nayaka of Madurai and another from Srirangaraya III (1642-1667), the last of the Emperors of Vijayanagar, who had his capital at penukonda.

He mentions yAdavEndra tIrtharu as his vidyAguru. This yAdavEndra tIrtharu is probably the same as the yAdavEndra tIrtharu, who was the first disciple of sudhIndra tIrtharu of rAyara maTa, before shri sudhIndra tIrtharu gave sanyAsa to rAyaru. 

One of his works is a learned commentary on the Nyayamruta of which a couple of manuscripts are available at the Madras Oriental Library. One of the manuscripts runs to 8000 granthas. A fascinating feature of this commentary is the lucid and elaborate exposition of several Mimamsa Nyayas pressed into service in the Nyayamruta. 

His other work is a vyAkhyAna on Chandrika called Chandrika Subhodini.

Dr. A R Panduranga Rao of Triplicane, Chennai, has taken pains to identify and copy the manuscripts of Sri lakshmInAtha tIrtharu from Madras Oriental Library. He conducted a Sabha in 1997 at the brindavana sannidhAna at Srirangam with eminent scholars like shri Mysore Seshagiri Rao, Dr. D. Prahaladachar (now pITAdhipathi of sOsale vyAsarAja maTa as Sri vidyAsrIsha tIrtharu) and shri Haridasa Bhat.
