He handed over the responsibilities of the Ashram to one of his favourite disciple Sri Vallabha Theertha and settled with the hermits.
He gave him the deities of Digvijaya Sri Ranga Vittala and Saligrama Sri Gopinatha for worshipping, and ordered him to go on a pilgrimage. Sri Vallabha Theertha went for pilgrimage. He didn't return for a long time. In the mean time, Sri Srikantha Theertha due to ill health selected Sri Srinidhi Theertha as his heir and entered Brindavan on Magha bahula amavasya.
