Three brothers VenkaNNaacharya, Vasudevacharya and Mudduvenkatakrishnacharya – all three had adorned the Mantralaya Peeta with names Sri Yogindra Tirtha, Sri Sooreendra Tirtha and Sri Sumatheendra Tirtha respectively. All the three had education from Raghavendra Tirtharu only.
He was direct disciple of Guru Raghavendra Swamy and next Yathigalu in the Rayara Matha Lineage.
Victory – He defeated Kaakashastri and others in debates at Bhagyanagar.
Muddalagadri Nayaka, who was ruling Madhurai, gifted a village named ‘Arambhanna’ on the banks of the river Tamraparni and Kalla Mutt lying to the west of Chitra street in Srirangam on the most sacred day of Akshaya Thritheeya in Siddharthi Samvatsara (1679).
He entered Vrundavanan @ Srirangam.

shri yOgIndra tIrtharu was the grandson of shri rAyaru's pUrvAshrama brother - shri gururAjacharya. He had 4 brothers, who all became sanyAsIs. 3 of them adorned the rAyara maTa pITa subsequently as sUriNdra tIrtharu, sumatIndra tIrtharu and upendra tIrtharu. Shri munIndra tIrtharu did not adorn the pITa. All of them had studied directly under shri rAyaru himself. He was a great scholar having studied under shri rAyaru himself. ********

Sri Raghavendra swami’s poorvashrama brother’s grandsons were three,
1. Sri Venkannacharya
2. Sri Vasudevacharya
3. Sri Muddhukrishnacharya.
Among them Sri Venkannacharya was called upon by Sri Raghavendra swami to succeed him as Sri Yogeendra theertha. Sri Yogeendra theertharu was a great scholar and gnyani. After Sri Raghavendra swami’s entry into his brindhavana, he established a code of pooja rituals at Manthralayam and started on his tour. He visited Kumbakonam, Srirangam and other kshethras.
He defeated kakashastri and others in debates at Bhagyanagar.
As Gururaja had moved away from Southern region, the swamiji went towards that region. After having darshan of Sri Vijayeendra theertharu at Kumbhakonam, he came to Srirangam.
The pilgrim of Srirangam was then under the administration of the Nayaks of grandson of Thirumalanayaka, son of Vishwanathanayaka and with tradition of the reverence, his ancestor had towards Mahasamsthan, he gifted a village ‘Arambhanna’ on the river tamraparni and Kalla Mutt lying to the west of Chitra street in Srirangam on the most sacred day of Akshaya Thritheeya in 1679 dedicating it to Lord Krishna.
While he was at Srirangam, he heard the voice (OM) of his guru Sri Raghavendra swami at a particular spot.
He remained there for the rest of his life and entered his brindhavana in the same premises.
His aaradhana falls on the day next to Madhwa navami, i.e. Magha- Shudha- Dhashami.(2-2-12).
Sri Yogeendra theertha poorvashrama brothers Sri Vasudevacharya and Sri Muddhukrishnacharya became sanyasis later in the name Sri Soorendra theertharu and Sri Sumateendra theertharu respectively.

He had the great fortune of learning under Raghavendra Swamy (1595-1671). He also had the fortune of succeeding Raghavendra Swamy t the Sri Matha which subsequently came to be known as Raghavendra Swamy Matha or Mantralaya Matha.
He was also among the privileged people who saw Raghavendra or Rayaru as he is affectionately called entering Brindavana in Manchale or Mantralaya in August 1671. It was this man who reverentially held the hand of Raghavendra Swamy and led him to the Brindavana.
It was also this man who supervised all the rituals and rites connected with the worship of the Brindavana of Raghavendra Swamy. He was also a close relative of Raghavendra Swamy and he saw Rayaru at close distance for several decades.
He also has the distinction of personally supervising the first aradhane celebrations of Raghavendra Swamy.
The Aradhane of this saint was held recently at Srirangam in Tamil Nadu where his Brindavana is located. This holy person is none other Yogendra or Yogeendra Theertha.
Yogendra Theertha was the son of Raghavendra Swamy;s poorvashrama brother, Gururaja. A favourite of Raghavendra Swamy he learnt under him and spent years under his guidance. When the tome came for Rayaru to enter Brindavana, he choose Yogendra Theertha as his successor and gave him his last upadesha and patha (teaching religious texts).
Yogendra Theertha was on the peetha of Sri Matha from 1671 to 1688. He was followed by Soorendra Theertha his brother.
Before taking sanyasa, he was known as Venkannacharya. It was Raghavendra Swamy who bestowed on him the nomenclature of Yogeendra Theertha.
His other brothers, Vasudevacharya and Mudduvenkatakrishnacharya, also succeded hi to the Sri Matha. Yogeendra was considered to be a brilliant scholar and intellect. It was during his time that Venkanna pant or Dewan Venkanna re-conveyed the village Manchale or Mantralaya to him.
After Rayaru entered Brindavana, Yogeendra stayed back for some time before embarking on sanchara. He defeated Kala Shastri and others at Bhagyanagar in debates and upheld Dwaitha siddantha.
He then retraced the steps of Rayaru and visited Kumbakonam. Here, he had the darshana of Vijendra Theertha before coming to Srirangam which was then being administered by the Nayakas of Madurai.
Muddalagadri Nayaka of Madurai, gifted Arambhanna village on the banks of Tamraparni and also the Kalla Mutt located the west of Chitra street in Srirangam on Akshaya Thritheeya in Siddharthi Samvatsara (1679) to Yogendra Theertha. .
Rayaru then came in a dream to Yogendra Theertha and asked him to settle down at Srirangam itself. He also entered Brindavana on the tenth day of Magha Shuddha in Vibhava Samvatsara.
Subsequently, his two brothers, Vasudevacharya and Muddhukrishnacharya, also became pontiffs of the Sri Matha after him and entered Brindavana at Srirangam itself.
Even today, we can see the Brindavana of the three brothers at the Raghavendra Swamy Matha in Srirangam.

ಮುಂದೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುರಾಜರು ಮಾಡಿದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆದೇಶಗಳಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುರಾಜರಿಂದ ಪರಮಹಂಸಾಶ್ರಮ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಪೂರ್ವಕ ಸರ್ವಜ್ಞ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಾಗ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರ ಪೂರ್ವಾಶ್ರಮ ಅಣ್ಣ ಶ್ರೀ ಗುರುರಾಜಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ......
ಶ್ರೀ ಯೋಗೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು ( ಶ್ರೀ ವೆಂಕಣ್ಣಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ) ಕ್ರಿ ಶ 1671 - 1688ರ ವರೆಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಆಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಾಶ್ರಮ ಸಹೋದರರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಾಸುದೇವಾಚಾರ್ಯ( ಶ್ರೀ ಸೂರೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು ) - ಶ್ರೀ ಮುದ್ದುವೆಂಕಟಕೃಷ್ಣಾಚಾರ್ಯ ( ಶ್ರೀ ಸುಮತೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು ) - ಶ್ರೀ ವಿಜಯೀಂದ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ( ಶ್ರೀ ಉಪೇಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥರು) ಗಳು ಒಬ್ಬರಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಬ್ಬರು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಪೀಠವನ್ನಾಳಾಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಯರ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದು - ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ವಾಸುದೇವಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಪರಮಹಂಸಾಶ್ರಮವನ್ನಿತ್ತು " ಶ್ರೀ ಸೂರೀಂದ್ರತೀರ್ಥ " ರೆಂದು ನಾಮಕರಣದೊಂದಿಗೆ ವೇದಾಂತ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಾಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಶ್ರೀರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವೃಂದಾವನ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

ಈ ಐದು ಜನ ಅಣ್ಣ ತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು - ತಮ್ಮನಿಂದ ಅಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಆಶ್ರಮವಾದ ಕ್ರಮ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಮೂಲ ಮಹಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಇತಿಹಾಸ.
